At KIMEP I teach primarily in sociolinguistics, language education, and TESOL. I have taught or am currently teaching Sociolinguistics (MA course); Curriculum Development and Materials Design for TESOL (MA course); Language in Society (self-designed course); Academic Reading and Writing II; and Academic Listening and Note-Taking. I also supervise MA students.
At Leeds I taught on the modules Language in Society; Power of Language; Language, Style and Attitudes; and a module of my own design, Language, Ethnicity and Race. I also supervised undergraduate English Language dissertations.
At the University of Hong Kong, I taught a wide range of courses in linguistics, sociolinguistics, and interdisciplinary fields; I was lecturer, tutor or teaching assistant for the courses Multilingualism (MA course); Human Language: Nature vs Nurture; Globalization: African Experiences; Language Contact; Linguistics Field Trip; Language, Thought, and Culture; and Introduction to Linguistics. I gave lectures for the courses Language Contact; Sociolinguistics; and Life and Death of Languages: Diversity, Identity and Globalization.
